Lulu Billington Funeral Services to be Announced
Mrs. Lulu Billington, 51, of Route 3, Greentop died in a Kirksville hospital this morning at 6:20. She had been in failing health for some time, but had been in the hospital only two days. Lulu was born in Scotland County, near Bible Grove, on Aug. 15, 1907. She was the daughter of Virgil and Mary Tremane Blaine. On Nov. 11, 1927, at Memphis, she was married to Claude Phelps and to this marriage two children were born. At Waterloo, IA, in 1941, she was married to Eugene Billington.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Carol (Margie) Shoemaker of Route 3, Greentop; her mother, Mrs. Mary Blaine of Baring; six grandchildren; one brother, Louie Blaine, of Fairfield, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Lela) Lay of Edina; two half brothers, Albert Stice of Stronghurst, Ill and Alfred Stice of Yolo, CA and two half sisters Mrs. Robert (Alice) To of Marysville, CA, and Mrs. Albert (Alta) Glen of Des Moines, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Blaine in 1952.
She was a member of Church of Christ at Bible Grove.
The body is at the Foster Memorial Home and funeral arrangements will be announced later.
