He was born in Macon County, Missouri and died at Bellingham, Whatcom County, Washington.
"Ralph Arnold Meyer was born and raised on his family's farm in Macon County,
Missouri. His father, Joseph Arnold Meyer, immigrated to the United States from
Switzerland in 1866, while his mother, Anna Christina Kunder, was born in
Toledo, Ohio. Ralph was the seventh of eight children born to Joseph and Anna.
He married Ida Gwinner in Macon County on December 27, 1916. Shortly after the
marriage the young couple relocated to Kansas, where they purchased a farm and
had two children, Warren and Bernice. The Meyer's farm in Kansas was very
productive, but for unknown reasons they decided to move further west, settling
in Whatcom County, Washington. They continued to farm, made a good living, and
enjoyed a very happy, loving marriage until Ralph died at age 57. Ida was 101
years old when she passed and her memory is still very treasured by her
grandchildren and great grandchildren."
