Emma Loraine Bergman, 90, of Thomasboro passed away on Sunday (April 16, 2017) at Country Health Care and Rehab, Gifford.

She was born on Dec. 7, 1926, in Beatrice, Neb., a daughter of Menne and Louise (Schoneweis) Thompson. She married Eldred Bergman on Dec. 7, 1946, in Gifford. He preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2011.

She is survived by four children, Eldean (Vickie) Bergman of Paxton, Allen Bergman of Champaign, Dale Bergman of Thomasboro and Jolene Grant of Rantoul; two sisters, Anna Bergman of Gifford and Margie Waltke of Beatrice, Neb.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and a son, Lynn Bergman.

Emma was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

She farmed with her husband for her entire married life and was a homemaker.

She loved the Cubs and was an avid euchre player, unless there was a domino game nearby!

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville. The Rev. James Lehmann will officiate. Burial will follow in Beckman Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or Country Health.
