Child Drowns In Musselshell

Rites will be Held Today at Melstone
Roundup, April 1. - Ronald Charles, 3 - year old son of Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Benson of Melstone, was drowned Saturday afternoon in the Musselshell river near his home.

The lad, saying he was going outside to play with his brother, the child left the home.
The lad, apparently looking for an older brother, tried to cross the river and fell, the current washing him down stream about a half mile where the body was discovered about 10:30 p.m., the body was next to some rocks in the river near the Benson home.
A search was launched when he did not respond to his mother calling him.
The parents started looking for him within 10 minutes after he left the house.
Approximately 75 Melstone residence joined in the hunt.

He was born May 10, 1943, at Roundup.

In addition to his parents he is survived by two brothers, John Arthur and William LeRoy: his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Blakely of Spokane, WA.,

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Melstone Congregational church.

Interment will be in Melstone.
