Richard W. Ahrens, 90, a lifelong Manitowoc County resident, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 2, at St. Mary Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Robert B. Hays will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Ahrens was born April 23, 1892, at Manitowoc, son of the late August and Ottilie Lemke Ahrens. He resided in Manitowoc County all his life and attended elementary schools. He married Gladys LaVerne Bierman June 15, 1935, at Manitowoc. She preceded him in death May 13, 1974. Prior to his retirement he farmed on County Trunk Q. He was the oldest member of Wesley United Methodist Church and a member of Methodist Men's Club.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald of County Trunk Q, Manitowoc and Richard and Joan of Berwyn Heights, Md., a daughter and son-in-law, LaVerne and marlin Brandt of Cleveland, Wis., and six grandchildren. A sister and four brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and at the church from noon Saturday until the time of service.
