Leonard A. Caplinger, 52, of Las Vegas, NV., a former Maroa resident and funeral director, died at 7:25 a.m. yesterday.

Mr. Caplinger, who operated the funeral home in Maroa which bore his name from 1934 to 1950, died in South Nevada Memorial Hospital in Las Vegas, after an illness of six months.

In Las Vegas, he was a dairy routeman.

He was born July 12, 1909, a son of Benjamin and Zelva Allsup Caplinger, in Maroa, where he lived until moving to Las Vegas.

Mr. Caplinger was married to Mrs. Ann Barnett, Dec. 26, 1951, in Kingman, AZ.

He leaves his wife, his mother, of Maroa; two sons, Stanley, of Kankakee, and Roger of Denver, CO.; a step-son, Robert Barnett of Maroa; two sisters, Mrs. Emery (Anna Lou) Janvrin of Warrensburg, and Mrs. Mary Belle Kidd of Miami, FL.; two brothers, Benjamin of Maroa, and Jack of Oak Park; two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be in the Maroa Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton. Friends may call at the Ruble Funeral Home, Maroa, after 4 p.m. Friday.
