So, it appears he operated a liquor store right next door to the grill at one point in time - also taking into account the photo with liquor bottles on the shelves behind him.
His wife Frances Lisle Mundy committed suicide at age 33 in 1942 and she is buried at Magnolia Cemetery in Charleston. He never remarried and there were no children. It is unknown why he was not buried with Frances.
His funeral was handled by J. Henry Stuhr in Charleston and a memorial was held in the North Chapel.
