Mrs. S.M. Adams died Friday morning, Oct 14, at her home near Powhattan. She had been an invalid for a number of years. She was about 70 years old. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist church at Powhattan and burial was made in the vault in Powhattan cemetery.

Mrs. Adams died with no heirs. She left a large sum of money to her physician, and additional bequests to her housekeeper, the Methodist church in Powhattan and Powhattan cemetery. Survivors and beneficiaries were two nieces, Mrs. R.D. Jones of Marysville and Mrs. B.L. Cooper of Denver, Colorado; and a nephew, Charles Black of Burlington, Iowa.
