William Yerian Dies;
Retired Blacksmith
CUMBERLAND -- William F Yerian, 89, a retired blacksmith
and father of a Zanesville woman, died at 3 15 p m Monday in his home here following several years illness. Mr Yerian had operated a blacksmith shop at Cumberland until approximately 10 years ago when he retired due to ill health. He was born Aug 17, 1871 in the Noble County village of Sharon, but moved to Cumberland at an early age. Mr Yerian was a member of the Methodist Church at Cumberland the IOOF Lodge and the Rebecca Lodge He belonged to the IOOF lodge for 61 years. Surviving are his widow, Anna of the home, three daughters, Mrs Clara Moore of Cumberland, Mrs Esther Smith of the home, and Mrs Lucille Ward of 737 Lexington avenue; two brothers, James of near Cumberland and Thomas of California; five grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p m Thursday at the Tom Funeral Home in Cumberland with the Rev Helen Groves officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p m today.
