John M. Reiger, 93, died Thursday morning, March 31, 1994, in Peoples Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, St. John's Catholic Church. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call after 8 a.m. Monday at Reiff Funeral Home, Independence.

Survivors include a daughter, Bette King of Independence; a son, John R. of Cedar Bluffs, Neb.; and two sisters, Sister Mercedes Rieger of Dubuque and Ione Zach of Cedar Falls.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

..In his 1918 WWI Draft Registration he was working for his father, George, near Lamont, IA and described as of Medium Height with Dark Blue Eyes & Dark Brown Hair.
