Son of William J. Allison and Eliza Lewis. Husband of: #1: Jerusha Hanson, #2: Deborah Weeks.

John L Allison leased the James S Douglass plantation "Buck Ridge" / TENSAS Parish Louisiana, in February of 1864 with intention of growing cotton and other crops with paid labor. Raiders came through on March 22, 1864 and abducted Mr Allison, took him some distance away, made him dig his own grave, then shot and killed him.
