Mary Ann "Polly" McCown married Robert Jeramiah Howard Bowles about 1851; they had six children. Jeramiah Bowles, a member of the 2nd Kansas Milita was killed in action October 22, 1864 in the Battle of Westport, Jackson County, MO. Their children were John Alexander Bowles (1852-1916); James Harvey Bowles (1854-1934); Jeremiah Robert Bowles (1856-1924); Andrew Jeremiah Bowles (1857-1870); William H Bowles (1860-1938); and Martha Emeline Bowles (1862-1936). Martha first married James Emmons (b 1855) and secondly James Anderson Kurts (1850-1920).
Mary Ann remarried Joseph Yaeger, who apparently died in 1925, in Louisiana. Their children were Mary E Yeager (b 1867); Charles Yeager (b 1870); and George A Yeager (b 1877).
