From Visulia Times-Delta, March 19, 1964:
Maude Metcalf, 90, a native of Flushing, Mich. died in a local rest home last night.
She attended schools in Flint, Mich., and was married to the late Edward R. Metcalf in Flushing. They moved to Lindsay in 1911 where they engaged in ranching.
In 1917, they moved to Orange Cove, living in the Sand Creek District where they raised cattle.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Cecil E. Metcalf, retired deputy state forester, who now lives in Orange Cove, and Harold R. Metcalf of Inglewood; five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a,m, tomorrow in the Hadley Funeral Chapel in Visalia with the Rev. Norman B. Callaway officiating. Burial will be in the Olive Cemetery in Lindsay.
