CAPT. ANDERSON PASSES AT HOME

Prominent Charlotte Citizen Dies at 84 After Critical Illness of 18 Months.

Captain William Anderson, 84, long a prominent citizen of Charlotte, died yesterday morning at 6:30 o'clock at his home at 1629 Queens road.

For the last three years Mr. Anderson has been in declining health, and for 18 months his condition had been critical. He was born in 1854 at Chirnside, Brewickshire, Scotland.

Surviving are the following children, a son, John Anderson of Schenectady, New York, and four daughters, Mrs. Ralph Parker, Mrs. T. J. Kearns, both of High Point, Mrs. James Micklejohn of Pawtucket, R. I., and Mrs. Thomas S. McPheeters of the city.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11 o'clock at the Second Presbyterian church with the pastor, Dr. John A. Redhead, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery. Elders of the Second Presbyterian church will be active and honorary pallbearers.
