THOMAS J. ADAMS

Word was received in Manitowoc of the death at Ft. Pierce, Fla., of Thomas J.
Adams, 59, formerly of Manitowoc. His death occurred Saturday noon.
Funeral plans are incomplete and will be announced Tuesday by the Urbanek and
Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
Mr. and Mrs. Adams lived in Florida the past five years. Prior to that he was
manager of the Dunning grocery and bakery at 1805 Washington St., Manitowoc.
Survivors included his wife, two children; brother, Samuel of Manitowoc; and
two sisters, Mrs. WIliam Boeder and Mrs. Edward Dunning.

Funeral services for Thomas J. Adams, 58, former Manitowoc, resident who died
Saturday afternoon at Ft. Pierce, Fla., will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at
St. James Episocapal Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. F. C. St. Clair will officiate
and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born in Sheboygan in 1896 and served in the Army in World War I from 1917
to 1921. He took employment with the Davey Tree Company as a salesman which he
filled for 25 years. In 1928 he married Miss Grace Holmes of Springfield, Mass.
In 1942 he came to Manitowoc and was manager of the Dunning _____________. In
1946 Mr. and Mrs. Adams moved to Ft. Pierce. During his residence in Manitowoc
he was a member of the Rotary Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American
Legion and the St. James Church. He was also a member of the Forty et Eight in
Sheboygan.
Surviving are his wife; daughter, (private); son, (private); brother, Samuel of
Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Edward Dunning of Del Ray Beach, Fla., and Mrs.
William Boeder of Manitowoc.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The casket
will be moved to the church at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
