INOCENTE LEYVA
Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at San Jose Mission for Inocente A. "Pete" Leyva, 69, who died in a Hobbs hospital Tuesday.
Rosary services will be held today at 7 p.m. at West Funeral Home chapel. Father Loren Kozial will officiate at the services.
Burial will be in Carlsbad Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Beto Navarette, Pilar Navarette, Polo Munoz, Gene Acosta, Manuel Vasquez and Ursulo Castillo.
A 50-year resident of Carlsbad, Leyva was a retired construction foreman for John D. Carr Construction, where he wored 23 years. He was a member of San Jose Mission.
Leyva was born in Marfa, Tex., and was raised at Alpine Tex., where he was married to the late Ester Loya in 1926. They lived in Malaga before moving here.
Survivors include three sons, P.R., Carlsbad, Delbert, San Jose, Calif., and Pete, Hobbs; three daughters, Mrs. Tommie Cerda, Sylvia Navarette and Angelita Gonzales, all of Carlsbad; four brothers, Noah, Big Spring, Tex., David and Pete, both of Albuquerque, and Chon Sotelo, Odessa, Tex.; one sister, Ursullo Fierro, California; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
