Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2010 at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Iowa Park.
Chet was born March 25, 1938 in Green Mountain, North Carolina to Roy and Ethel Wilson Adkins. He attended Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park. He and Lillian Todd were married October 6, 1981 in Waurika, Oklahoma. He served in the US Air Force at SAFB, TX. Chet was a manager for Skaggs Alpha Beta Drug Stores in Dallas, Texas.
His father and mother preceded him in death.
His survivors include his wife, Lillian of Iowa Park; son, Russell Dean Adkins of Wichita Falls, Texas; step daughter, Julie Stewart of Lake Dallas, Texas; step son, Rick Tatom of Mineola, Texas; sister, Delores Lilly of Johnson City, Tennessee; brothers, Raymond Adkins of Marion, North Carolina and Donald Adkins of Erwin, Tennessee; 3 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 1 great grandson, 1 niece, 2 nephews, 3 great nieces and 1 great nephew.
