FORMER LOCAL MAN STRICKEN AT CHICAGO
Henry Achenbach Dies From Apoplexy and Body will Be Brought Here
A stroke, suffered early Sunday morning in his room at a Chicago home where he
had lived for a number of years, resulted in the death of Henry Achenbach, a
former local man who has lived at the metropolis for the last thirty-six years.
His dead body was found within a few minutes after his demise and death was
attributed to cerebral hemorrhage. The body will be brought to this city
tomorrow, Tuesday, afternoon on the afternoon train over the Chicago and North
Western and will be taken to the Vogelsang Undertaking rooms from where the
services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be at
Evergreen.
Leaves Relatives Here
Henry Achenbach was born at Manitowoc Rapids November 4, 1867 and was fifty-
seven years old. He grew to manhood here and left for Chicago where he has
been engaged in carpenter work for thirty-six years. He never married and is
survived by his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Achenbach of Manitowoc Rapids, two
brothers, Oscar of Chicago and Charles of Manitowoc Rapids, and six sisters,
Mrs. John Verby, Mrs. Otto Cullman and Mrs. Ben Krisher of Chicago, Mrs.
William Spiegel of Mishicot, Mrs. Herman Wlenke of Manitowoc Rapids and Mrs.
Edward Meyers of this city.
Outside of his affiliation with the carpenters local union at Chicago Mr.
Achenbach was not a member of any fraternal organization.
