Mrs. Edwin (Winifred) Abendschein of 915 N. Ninth St., Manitowoc, died
unexpectedly Tuesday evening at home.
Private Christian Science services will be Friday at Urbanek and Schlei
Funeral Home, Manitowoc, with Mrs. Erwin Fanta as reader. Burial will
be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Abendschein, nee Winifred Krainik, was born in Manitowoc, daughter
of the late Frank and Amanda Hoffman Krainik. She was reared at
Manitowoc, graduating from Central High School and Whitewater State
University with a B.S. degree in business education. She taught school
at Cambridge, Neenah, Reedsville and Mishicot. She was married to Edwin
Abendschein July 23, 1928, at Milwaukee. They located at Neenah until
1943 when they moved to Manitowoc. Mr. Abendschein preceded her in death
May 22, 1971. She was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist of
Boston, Mass., Manitowoc Women's Club and American Association of Retired
People.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Alfred (Iris) Nelson of Manitowoc and
nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation. A memorial fund in Mrs. Abendschein's memory
has been established for Lincoln High School, Manitowoc.
