EDWIN H. ABENDSCHEIN
Edwin H. Abendschein, 77, of 915 N. Ninth St., Manitowoc, died Saturday morning
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Edmund Olson will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc. Military graveside services will be conducted by the
American Legion Post No. 88, of Manitowoc.
Mr. Abendschein was born May 18, 1894, at Neenah, son of the late Phillip and
Caroline Kronberg Abendschein. He married Winifred Krainik in July of 1928 at
Milwaukee. The couple located at Neenah until 1943 when they moved to Manitowoc.
He had been employed as a welder at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., retiring in
1959. Mr. Abendschein was a veteran of World War I, serving in the Air Force.
He was a charter member of the American Legion Hawley-Dieckhoff Post No. 33 of
Neenah, which he helped organize.
Survivors include his wife. Four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home (State Street entrance) after 4 p.m. Sunday
until the time of service.
