Hannah Slack's first marriage was to Edmund Vardy in the fourth quarter of 1864 in Derbyshire, England. She had a child, her daughter Emily, with her first husband in England. Hannah married Richard Brian about 1872. Together, they had seven children, in addition to Hannah's daughter from her first marriage and Richard's four children from his first marriage. Richard and Hannah also adopted Albert, Richard's grandson, the youngest child of his eldest son Richard who died in 1886. Hannah was widowed in 1907. She spent most of her life in Trenton, New Jersey, prior to moving to Morrisville, Pennsylvania four years before her death.
