MRS. H. C. DERHAMMER.
Mrs. Henry C. Derhammer, aged 55, passed away at her home in Otsego township, south of the city last Saturday after an illness of several weeks. Cora A. Sperry was born April 24, 1867, and passed away January 19, at the age of 55 years, eight months and 26 days. She was born on a farm one mile west of here where she spent her childhood; the remainder of her life was spent in this vicinity. On September 2, 1884, she was united in marriage to Henry C. Derhammer. She proved a faithful wife, a fond mother and a loyal companion. Though her life was filled with many sorrows, she always bore her cross cheerfully and labored with the thought that every cloud has a silver lining. Her one great pleasure in life was in being of service to those in need and trouble. This willingness to help others won for her many close and intimate friends, who will ever remember the many acts of kindness shown them. During her early life she attended the Methodist church and later was converted to the Baptist faith, in which church she was baptised. Besides her husband she leaves two sons, Ernest S. and Martin H., three daughters, Mrs. E. J . Bennett, and the Misses Lida and Rubie and four grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Frank Sherwood, and a wide circle of friends.
The funeral was held from her late home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H. W Rogers, pastor of the Congregational church, and interment was made in Mountain Home cemetery.
