Funeral services fro Daniel H. Atwood, former Randolph resident, were held at Henderson & Lincoln Funeral Home at Jamestown Friday.... Burial was in Randolph Cemetery. Born in Randolph, December 12, 1871, Daniel Atwood was the son of Joshua and Kate Atwood. A brother of Mrs. Jason Stone, he had lived on the Stone farm on Corbett Hill. Later he was in Michigan for a time. His marriage to Alice Howard took place in that state. Atwood had lived in the vicinity of Jamestown about 34 years and was formerly a motorman and maintenance manager of the Jamestown Street Railway. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph O'Brien, Mrs. Georgia Castle and Mrs. Eva Sturdy of Jamestown, and seven grandchildren, Catherine and James O'Brien, Raymond and Cherrill Castle, Nancy and Gloria Atwood of Jamestown and Jane Atwood of Rutherford, N.Y. A brother, Henry Atwood and a sister, Jennie Mercy preceded him in death.
The sons are omitted in the Randolph obituary; the Jamestown Evening Journal obituary, April 9, 1940 includes in the list of survivors: "two sons, Ellis Atwood of Lakewood and Leo Atwood of Jamestown."
