Mrs. Allie J. Allen, widow of the later Alfred F. Allen, a former county clerk of Shelby county, died at the Shelby County Memorial hospital in Shelbyville on Tuesday night, November 25, at 8:15 o'clock after a lingering illness from paralysis, which she suffered last May. Allie J. Storm was born 27 Oct 1854 in Shelby county, and was past 70 years of age at the time of her death. On June 6, 1880, she was united in marriage to Alfred F. Allen. Mr. Allen passed away on May 23, 1915. To this union three children were born, two of whom have passed away, one in infancy and Flora, who passed away in 1902. The surviving child is Mrs. Ruth Givan of St. Louis. Besides the daughter, Mrs. Allen is survived by several grandchildren, a step-daughter Mrs. J. D. Stewardson of Shelbyville and three step-granddaughters, Miss Margaret Roessler of St. Louis and Beatrice and Geneva Stewardson of Shelbyville. A step-daughter Mrs. Margaret Roessler passed away a number of years ago, leaving a small daughter and Mrs. Allen reared her as her own child, giving all the attention and care that mother possibly could give. Funeral services were held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Stewardson on North Morgan street at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, with Rev. N. H. Robertson, pastor of the Christian church, in charge. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. J. D. Miller, Mrs. L. F. Akenhead, Charles Forsyth and S. B. Carr. The casket bearers were E. Miller, Bert Cutler, Ransom Robison, Will Osbourn, B. W. Hayward and Harry Henderson. Interment was in Glenwood cemetery. Among the out-of-town people attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Abercrombie, Windsor; Mrs. John Strohl, Mrs. Bertha Dappert and son Morris, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Koepen, Mrs. Stella Leathers and daughter Mary Margaret, and Mr. and Mrs. Nick Eckhart, all of Stewardson; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Clem, Ash Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Carlyle, W.
