BARKER,William (Bill) Franklin, age 87, died December 31, 1997, in Corona, CA. Born May 27, 1910, in Hilliard, Uinta County, WY to George H. Barker and Ada Hutchinson. He married Effie Lucille Smith on July 21, 1936, in the Logan LDS Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In his early years, he helped to settle and ranch parts of Hilliard, WY. He served two missions for the LDS Church, and he graduated from the LDS Business College. He was the manager of Producers Livestock Marketing Association from 1936-1978. He also bought and sold livestock all over the country, and in Canada and Mexico. He was renowned for the integrity and honor he showed in all his business dealings. He served as bishop of Phoenix, AZ 1st Ward and served many years on the stake high council. He also served in the Navy during World War II. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was loved by many for his fiery personality and great sense of humor. Survived by his two sons, Roy (Dawn) of Corona, CA; Gary (Sandra) of Evanston, WY; and his daughter, Kathleen (John) of Centerville, UT. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Lee; daughter-in-law, LaRhea; grandson, William (Billy); granddaughters, Janalee, Anne, and Heather; sisters, Hilda Marie, Hilda May, Anne Elizabeth; and brother, Joseph. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 7, 1998, at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, at 10 a.m. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the mortuary.
