Elwood - Mrs. Mary Brannen, 68, 1802 Plaza Drive, Elwood, died Wednesday, Apr. 28, 1982 at Tipton Memorial Hospital.
Survivors - include; seven sons, Thomas, Kenneth, and James all of Marion, William, Augusta, GA; Jerry, Robert, and Wayne of Elwood, four daughters, Mrs. Dorthy Martin, Mrs. Rebecca Carter, and Mrs. Carol Wyrickand Mrs. Mary Stickler all of Elwood, Marshall Baxter, Marion, IN; Earl Baxter, Hobart, IN; and DeWayne Baxter, Steger, IL; two sisters, Mrs. Delores Bragg and Mrs. Betty Purtee both of Marion; 29 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Today at the Jackley - Landrum Funeral Home, 1629 Main St. Elwood burial will be in Elwood City Cemetery.
Mary Helen (Baxter) Brannen was born Apr. 29, 1913 in Grant Co. IN. To the late Andrew Ezra and Hazel Deloras (Buroker) Baxter. She was one of eight children.
She was proceded in death by her husband Newton A. Brannen; son Lonnie Brannen; two sister infant Annie Irene Baxter; and Audrey Fern Moreland.
