When Mildred was 3 years old, she lost her mother to typhoid fever. Her mother's first cousin, Margaret Warner (daughter of Tillman Warner and Sarah Mantzy) and her husband Enoch Caster took Mildred to raise as their own. She was raised as an only child with them but Mildred had two biological older siblings (Melva and Ralph). She always knew about her biological beginnings. Mildred had a good life with Enoch and Margaret and she loved them.
Mildred married in 1931 to Albert Pearl Renner, son of Pearl "Doc" Renner and Lodema Walker. They had two daughters, Reva Jean and Janice Arlene. Mildred later worked as a Dispatcher/Police Woman for the Portland, Indiana Police Department. She participated in many firearms/combat pistol shooting matches around the state of Indiana, winning many trophies as she was an excellent marksman. She will be remembered as an excellent wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She loved life and lived it as fully as she could.
