He was a member of Palmer Baptist Church, retired from Piper Impact, Inc and also was security guard at BenchCraft. Services were October 9 at 3 pm at McBride Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Tippah Memorial Garden. Bro Landreth Murphree and Bro Don Wilson officiated. Survivors include his wife, Marie Lence, Ripley; one son, Gilbert (Gil) Leon Lence Jr, Ripley; three daughters, Donna Guyse, Memphis, Rita Stubbs, Douglasville, GA, and Janet Chessor, Ripley; one brother, Kenneth Lence, Ripley; two sisters, Nancy Welch, Ripley, and Linda Hodges, Booneville; 8 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild.
