Mrs. Leota Behrens, 68,
Charter Member Of The Chin Up Club,
Its Membership Chairman And
A Bedfast Operator Of
A Telephone Call Service,
Died At Her Home, 7830 N. Omaha Avenue,
Sunday After An Illness Of 24 Years.
She Suffered From Arthritis.
She Was Born June 21, 1885
At Galeena {Galena}, Kan.,
And Had Been A Resident
Of Portland For 47 Years.
During The Years When She Could
Not Leave Her Bed She Carried On
Her Business And Her Work For
The Chin Up Club By Telephone.
She Took Calls For Several Firms
During Off Hours.

She Is Survived By Her Husband,
Fred, Who Retired In 1949
After 32 Years As An Employe
Of Portland Traction Company;
A Son, Homer;
A Daughter, Mrs. Robert Schultz,
Two Grandchildren, And
A Brother Joe Pickett,
All Of Portland; And Three Sisters,
Mrs. Blanche Dufur, Cottage Grove;
Mrs. Ethel Sherman, Lewiston, Idaho,
And Mrs. Myrtle Reid,
At One Of The Oregon Beach Cities.

For Years She Was A Member Of
The St. Johns Christian Church
And The Pastor, Rev. Jessie Johnston,
Will Conduct The Funeral Services
At 2:30 P. M. Thursday At Mikeworth's
Peninsula Mortuary
With Burial In The Family Plot
At The Columbia Cemetery.
