CROSS - Gerald D., 65, Bedford R.D. 6, died Wednesday, March 12 1997, at home. Born May 22, 1931 in Oakland, Calif., son of late Oliver S and O. Josephine (Laulhe) Cross.
Preceded in death by brother, Theodore. Survived by wife, Shirley M.(Law) Cross, whom he married Sept. 26, 1952; children: Jody Marie Cross, East Harwich, Mass.; Kathy Ann,
wife of Lon Gates, New Enterprise and Gerald David Cross Jr., Johnstown; and four grandchildren. Brother of Ann Carnes, Yuba City, Calif.; Patricia McConnachie, Portland, Ore.; Donald Cross, San Francisco, Calif.; and adopted brother, James Cross, Michigan. Served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the L.S.T. Association. Retired May 5, 1996, as vice president and branch loan coordinator of Johnstown Bank & Trust Corporation. Member and treasurer, lay leader and former Sunday school teacher and choir member of Manns Choice United Methodist Church. Past president and treasurer of Bedford Kiwanis Club. Member of Manns Choice Recreation Association and Fishertown Community Band. Former member of Bedford Bicentennial Band and Fred Shannon Smith Orchestra. BoyScout leader of Manns Choice, Troop 363. Member of Penn's Woods
Council of the Boy Scouts. Treasurer of Bedford County Pennsylvania Industrial Authority and Bedford County Pennsylvania Association. Vice president of Bedford Development Council. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, where funeral service will be held at 2 p m Saturday, the Rev. Donald Henderson officiating.
