Brother of Ann Carnes, Yuba City, Calif.; Patricia McConnachie, Portland, Ore.; Donald Cross, San Francisco, Calif.; and adopted brother, James Cross, Michigan. Served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the L.S.T. Association. Retired May 5, 1996, as vice president and branch loan coordinator of Johnstown Bank & Trust Corporation. Member and treasurer, lay leader and former Sunday school teacher and choir member of Manns Choice United Methodist Church. Past president and treasurer of Bedford Kiwanis Club. Member of Manns Choice Recreation Association and Fishertown Community Band. Former member of Bedford Bicentennial Band and Fred Shannon Smith Orchestra. BoyScout leader of Manns Choice, Troop 363.
