He was born in Rexburg, Idaho April 3, 1917. He served for 20 years as an officer in the UA army, retiring as Lt. Col, and moving to Henderson six years ago. Mr. Purcell was a teacher at Basic high school there.
Surviving are his widow, Vardena Vickers Purcell; daughter, Nancy Farrenkopf; two sons Richard, and William Henderson; two brother, Todd, and Don; sister, Mrs. Dalby (Ellen) Shirley.
