Obit probably from the Antioch News, Antioch, Lake County, Illinois, date uncertain: William Smart Passed Away on Sunday Afternoon. William H. Smart, a pioneer resident of Lake county died Sunday afternoon at his home west of Antioch after several months illness. Although he had been ailing most of the winter, Mr.. Smart had been feeling somewhat improved of late. He took a change for the worse at 10 o'clock Sunday morning and death came at 1:30 p.m.. If Mr. Smart had lived until May he would have been 79 years old. He was born on May 13, 1855 at Millburn and lived in Lake county all his life. He made his home near Antioch for over 30 years. He was engaged in farming since his boyhood days and was well known throughout the county. He belonged to the Modern Woodman of America. Besides a widow he is survived by six children, four daughters and two sons. They are Mrs.. Ernest Simons, Lake Marie; Mrs. Ernest Brook, Antioch, Mrs. Howard Smith, Channel Lake, Mrs. B. Fields, Antioch, Robt. Smart, Antioch, and Donald Smart, Genesee street, Waukegan. He also leaves two sisters and a brother, Mrs. J. Smith of New York; Mrs. George Wedge, Antioch and Robert Smart of 817 Oakland Ave., Waukegan. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the late home with interment at the Antioch cemetery."

Smart of Antioch, Dies Sunday' Was Brother of Robert Smart ---- ATTACK OF HEART DISEASE ---- Birthdays also spell days of death for members of the Smart family. The latest death is that of William H. Smart, 69 years old, who died from an attack of heart disease Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at his home a quarter a mile west of Antioch, on the birthday anniversary of his sister, Mrs. J.L. Bain, who died at her home, Douglas and Hickory street, Waukegan, two weeks ago.. Mr. Smart had not been feeling well this winter. Mrs. James F. Trestrail, Waukegan, Waukegan, died May 13, 1917, on the birthday anniversary of her brother, William H. Smart. Mrs. Lucy Kendall of Waukegan, another sister, died June 29, 1917, on the birthday anniversary of another brother, Robert L. Smart. Besides the brother in Waukegan, Mr. Smart leave two sisters, Mrs. Geo. Wedge, south of Antioch; Mrs. John Smith, of New York City, his widow, and six sons and daughters, as follows: Mrs. Emma Simons, Lake Marie, Mrs. Gertrude Brooks, wife of the Antioch banker; Mrs. Pauline Smith, Channel Lake; Mrs. John Bernie Field, at home, Robert Smart, who lives near the home farm, and Donald Smart, employed by the M.H. Hussey Lumber Co., Waukegan. He had been a resident of Antioch neighborhood for 30 years. Fneral Tuesday from the home at 1:30 o'clock. Burial in Antioch cemetery.
