She was born February 14, 1918 in Burlington, to Henry and Maude (Osborn) Weyrich.
On June 28, 1940 she married Alfred Jones and initially lived in Vancouver, Washington. Returning to the Skagit Valley they purchased a small home on South Bradshaw Rd. in Mount Vernon. Later they moved to a home one mile west of town, then finally settling on the family farm on Bradshaw Rd. known as "Hide-Away-Farm".
Vivian was very active in the surrounding community, being a long time member of the Avon United Methodist Church, Golden Girls and prayer and Bible study groups. She was also a 70+ year member of the Freedom Grange. She enjoyed popular and country music in the 1940's, Christian music, reading Billy Graham, Saturday Evening Post and Home & Garden.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judith; son, Michael; husband, Alfred; sister, Beulah; and brothers, Cecil and Heston.
She is survived by sons: Dennis (Mary Ann) and Larry; grandchildren: Tammy, Daniel, Leah (Vince) and Lonnie; great-grandchildren: Tiffany David, Taylor, Michael and Victoria; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was truly loved and will be missed by all.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Avon United Methodist Church, 13743 Avon-Allen Rd., Mount Vernon, with Dr. Wayne Martin and Pastor Edd Denton officiating.
Burial will follow in Bay View Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Avon United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are under the care of Kern Funeral Home.
