Carrie played basketball and graduated from Savanna High School in 1953 and then Eastern Oklahoma A&M in 1955. She moved to Oklahoma City and worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a budget analyst. She married Paul E. Adams on May 22, 1965, in Oklahoma City. They moved to Wichita, Kan. where her husband was stationed and she worked at McConnell Air Force Base before returning to Midwest City in 1969. They moved to McAlester in 2004. She was an accomplished golfer competing in numerous tournaments. She was a member of Tinker Air Force Base Women's Golf and Twin Hills Country Club, which she was an 8 time WGA Club Champion. She was a former member Ridgecrest Church of Christ in Midwest City, and presently a member of Main and Oklahoma Church of Christ. She passed away at a local nursing center at the age of 75. Survivors include a brother, Chester Raleigh and wife, Evelyn, El Paso, Texas; nephews, Richard Raleigh, Kenneth Raleigh, Charlie Kimball, Royce Sparks, Cody Raleigh and Shane Raleigh. Also, nieces, Charlene Thomas, Charlotte Miller, Carol Ann Odell, Patricia Leonard and Glenda Sanders, and sisters-in-law, LaDella Hedger, Phyllis Raleigh and Donna Hannah. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Amie Raleigh; her husband, Col. Paul E. Adams on May 21, 2010; brothers, Lester Raleigh, Pat Raleigh and Gene Raleigh; sisters, Hester Raleigh Sparks and Murlene Raleigh Kimball, and brothers-in-law, Charles Kimball and Roy Sparks. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Red Coleman officiating. Burial will be at Savanna Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester. Pallbearers will be Richard Raleigh, Kenneth Raleigh, Royce Sparks, Charlie Kimball, Sherman Miller and Jim David Gibson. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Raleigh and Shane Raleigh.
