Mrs. McCartin dies in hospital
Nora Ellen McCartin, 63, The Dalles, died Saturday afternoon at St. Anthony Hospital.
She was born at Lexington. She had lived at The Dalles the past 21 years.
Mrs. McCartin was married in 1937 to John McCartin in Pendleton. He died in 1948. She had worked at the Umatilla County Library in Pendleton for five years and had been a school teacher at The Dalles for 21 years. She was a member of St. Peter Church, St. Theresa Circle in The Dalles, and Catholic Daughters of America, Pendleton.
Survivors include a brother, William J. McDaid, Boise, Idaho; three sisters, Mary McCarton and Catherine Petrie of Pendleton and Margaret McDaid of The Dalles; 18 nieces and nephews.
