Joseph A. Anderson was born on Falls Branch of Swan Creek, Hickman County TN. He married Josephine Amanda Elgiva Fielder. From his birth until sometime after 1860 Joseph lived on his fathers farm on Falls Branch. He appears on tax rolls but was missing from the 1870 census. After his marriage in 1876 he farmed the Fielder farm in the 1st District. He and his wife lived there until 1899 when they sold the farm and bought another from Ben Arnold in Totty's Bend TN. Joseph only lived another 6 years but his wife continued living there until 1927
