Mrs. Hilda "Minnie" Broom Gamble, age 88, a resident of Eastland Road passed away Friday, October 1, 2010 at her residence.

Mrs. Gamble was born December 27, 1921 in Cumberland County to the late Norval Clinton and Nota Eveline Johnson Broom. She was retired from Mallory Timers. She is preceded in death by her husband Roy Gamble. In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by brothers Lester, Shelie, N.C., Romie and Edford Broom; sisters Irene Foxhall and Nola Jenkins.

Mrs. Gamble is survived by her two daughters Donna (Hank) Goguen and Wanda (Richard) Allen all of Sparta

Grandchildren: Amy (Steve) Harrison, Beth (Michael) Hill, Jennifer Mayberry

Great-grandchildren: Jesse Allen, Maycee Travis, Kaitlyn Mayberry, Michaela Mayberry, Dylan Mayberry

Brother: Everette (Ieda) Broom of Sparta

Several nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, October 4, 2010 in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Old Bon Air Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 pm Sunday at Hunter Funeral Home. Mike Mayers will officiate.

Serving the family as pall bearers will be Jesse Allen, Trent Selby, Tyler Selby, Michael Hill, Steve Harrison, Charles Hatfield. Honorary Pall Bearer Everette Broom
