Mr. Achatz was born Oct. 21, 1887, in Cottrellville township, son of Frederick and Amelia Achatz.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Boren, Germany; four sisters, Mrs Harry Conlin and Mrs. Alice Dust, both of Marine City, Mrs. Vera Roemer, Detroit, and Mrs. Mollie Crawford, Florida; a brother, Frank Achatz, Marine City, and several nieces and nephews. Remains are in Bower-Rose Funeral Home.
