Mrs. Sarah Moon of Ashford, died Sunday, October 3, 2010, at Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville, FL. She was 82. Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wallace Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 2 to 3 P.M. Wednesday, October 6, 2010. Flowers will be accepted. Mrs. Moon was raised in the Tuscaloosa, AL area, moving to Fellsmere, FL after she married her loving husband of 63 years. She later moved to Pahokee, FL where she worked as a Sugar Mill chemist, before retiring to Ashford, AL. She enjoyed church, family, crafts, and her home and yard. She is preceded in death by husbands Charles Law-ley and Frank Moon, brothers Clarence Thomas and K. D. Thomas, and sister Odessa Thomas. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Gallagher and her husband, Sid, of Ashford, AL; sons, James Lawley of Ashford, AL; Earl Moon and his wife, Linda, of Austin, TX; sister, Inez Pugh of Cottondale, AL; brother, John Thomas and his wife, Mavis, of New-burn, AL; grandchildren, Duane Gallagher and his wife, Debbie, of Niceville, FL, Heath Gallagher and his wife, Victoria, of Birmingham, AL, Michael Moon and his wife, Ruth, of Austin, TX, Mark Moon of Austin, TX, Jamie Lawley and Brian Lawley of Florida, and Cassandra Lawley of North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Justin Gallagher, Megan Gallager, and Joseph Gallagher; brother-in-law, Marrion Moon and wife, Dot, of Melbourne, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Active Pallbearers will be Duane, Heath, and Bob Gallagher, Michael and Mark Moon, and Charles Miller. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Wiregrass Chapter #519 of the Order of Eastern Star. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of the Manor at Blue Water Bay in Niceville, FL for all the loving care they gave to Mrs. Moon.
