This note is written in loving memory of Kathie Phillips. She was born in Denver, CO, on April, 9, 1960. Born to a loving mother and father, Mary Ann & Albert Gerze, she was the fourth of six children. Kathie grew up in Commerce City before her family moved across town. She graduated from Arvada High School in 1978. On February 15, 1986, Kathie married her long time sweet heart, Wendell Phillips. They were married in Heritage Square in Golden, CO, in the presence of much family and friends. Kathie prided herself as a "Full-Time Mom," raising her four boys (Junu, Jake, Zack and Nick). She described our home as "a little house, with a lot of love." Kathie spent several years an active participant of the community. This included, but is not limited to: Home Room Mom (for all four boys), Team Mom for several sports teams and a Board Member of the PTA. Outside of being superwoman, Kathie enjoyed pottery, camping and playing Bunco with her girls.

For those who knew Kathie best, they knew that she would do anything possible to make sure the people around her were happy. She was a tough cookie, and always spoke her mind. Kathie stood up for herself, and for those who were not strong enough to stand up for themselves. Kathie Phillips was the definition of character, and made sure that her family knew the difference between right and wrong and lived that way everyday. She put her family first, no questions asked. Everything she did was with the utmost sincerity, compassion and grace. Kathie lit up the room with her beauty and her elegance...not to mention her amazing sense of humor. She could lighten the mood of the room with just the sound of her voice. She could spark conversation up with a complete stranger and be their best friend within minutes. Kathie was truly, TRULY...one of a kind.

Kathie Phillips is survived by her husband, Wendell Phillips, 51, and sons, Junu Phillips, 30, Jake Phillips, 23, Zack Phillips, 22, and Nick Phillips, 20.

She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother and a great friend to all. We will miss her dearly...
