Lawrence E. SULLIVAN, 71, of 1219 Lake Shore Drive, died at 11:03 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Hospital, where he had been a patient ince Sunday. He had been in failing health since 1981.
He was born Feb. 20, 1914 south of Peru in Miami County to Seward and Iona BOWYER SULLIVAN, and had lived here since 1944 after moving from Bunker Hill. He was married Aug. 10, 1935 at Bunker Hill to Mary Gene CHILDRES, who survives. He was a field man for the former Armour Creamery, and retired from Torin Corp., as a set-up man in 1981. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge and the Manitou Moose Lodge.
Surviving with the wife are a daughter, Mrs. Alberto (Janet) MONTI, Elmhurst, Ill.; a son, Michael L. [SULLIVAN], Columbus; a grandson, David MacFARLANE, and a great-granddaughter, Danielle MacFARLANE, both of Rosemont, Ill.; a sister, Helen CLARK, Arcadia, and a brother, Ellis [SULLIVAN], Peru. A sister and two brothers preceded in death.
Services are tentatively set for 3 p.m. Sunday at the Foster & Good Funeral Home in Rochester with the Rev. Russ WILBUR officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and on Sunday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund.
