Arthur Maxwell Dies at 84, Husband of former Ella Osbloom.
Arthur L. Maxwell, 84, a former resident of Chicago area who had lived in Galva the past 15 years, died March 28 in Galesburg St. Mary's Hospital.
He was a native of Chatsworth, Illinois, where he was born November 17, 1897and graduated from high school there. Also he attended the Art Institute in Chicago.
Mr. Maxwell was a veteran of World War I.
For several years he managed hotels in the Chicago area and later was bookkeeper for a Chicago construction firm until 1967.
Mrs. Maxwell is the former Ella Osbloom, daughter of John and Esther Osbloom of Nicoma
(She is a sister of Miss Vachel Jones of Galva.) The Maxwell's moved to Galva in 1967 and occupied the mobile home at 49 Northwest 7th Ave., at the rear of the former Nettie Kelly home. Six brothers and two sisters preceded him.
Services March 31 in Johnson-Gill-Schuster Chapel were conducted by Rev. Fred Norman, of First United Methodist Church. Organist was Mrs. Organist was Mrs. Dorothy Talbot.
Interment was in Bishop Hill Cemetery and bearers were James Willer, Dan and James Jones, Mervyn Looney, Dale Westlin and John Schluster.
