Celestina was born in Koelztown, Missouri to Ferdinand Frederick Meyer and Anna Gertrud Lueckenhoff.

Celestina was married to George Joseph Castrop on June 26, 1912, in Linn, Missouri, and they had many children.

Mrs. Celestine Anna Castrop, 83, of Freeburg, died Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital, Jefferson City. Mrs. Castrop was born Aug. 6, 1885, at Koeltztown, the daughter of Ferdinand and Anna Lueckenhoff Meyer. On June 25, 1912, she was married to George Castrop, who died Jan. 3, 1968.

Survivors include: Three sons, Henry Castrop, Linn, Daniel Castrop, El Reno, Okla., Ferdinand Castrop, Kearney, Neb.; six daughters, Mrs. John Poettgen and Mrs. Frank Luetkemeyer, both of Freeburg, Mrs. Carl Mertz, Lansing, Mich., Mrs. Norman Kolar, Jefferson City, Mrs. Peter Eyermann, Kirkwood, Mrs. Wayne Gollub, Chesterfield. Two brothers, E.F. Meyer, Tulsa, Okla., Al Meyer, St. Louis; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Richter, St. Louis, Miss Minnie Meyer, Tucson, Ariz.; 31 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today and Tuesday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, Vienna. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, with Msgr. Bernard Timpe officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
