Harry F. Wells, lived to the grand age of 98. He lived his life in the O'Brien area where he was a former postmaster. He and his brother Lamar operated a soda bottling concern in O'Brien, also known as "Dabs Hole", as there was a sinkhole in O'Brien which was filled in later years. He worked in later years for Florida Rock Company as a prospector.
In his retirement years he was an avid "Florida Gator Fan" and loved the "Atlanta Braves" baseball team. He could tell stories of the area that would keep one interested for hours.
Mr. Wells was predeceased by his wife, Agnes Wells. He leaves three daughters and one son. His daughters are, Mary Agnes Steele and husband Bill of Benton, Ark.; Gail Whiteford and husband Bob of Gainsville, Fla.; Ann Canty of Ponte Vedra, Fla and William (Bill) Wells and wife Barbara of Gainsville, Fla. Mr. Wells has numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and great-great grandchildren and many friends.
Services were held in Branford at the Branford United Methodist Church were he had been a member for many years, after the O'Brien Methodist Church murged with Branford.
His son-in-law, Bill Steele was pastor at Branford at one time.
The family requests that donations be made to the O'Brien Cemetery Fund c/o O'Brien Baptist Church, 22681 95th Drive, O'Brien, FL 32071. Mr. Wells and his wife Agnes where on the cemetery committee for many years until their passing.
