"He served five months and eleven days in the Tenth Massachusetts Regiment, and his discharge therefrom was dated at West Point, December 16, 1780. He again served in Capt. Abel King's Company, Col. Sears' Regiment, from August 20, 1781 to November 20, 1781, and was at Saratoga. He was placed on the pension roll in 1832. He was a farmer and resided at Wilbraham, Mass., where he died, March 19, 1846."

According to his own statement in his pension record, he was present and in view of Maj. Andre at the time he was hung at Tappan.
Years later, Sabra filed for a widows pension. In her statement she said, I have often heard my husband speak of being on duty as camp guard at the time of the execution of Major Andre, and describe the appearance of General Washington at this time.

~~Titus Amadon was born on 18 July 1763, in Granby, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. His parents were Ithamar Amidon Jr and Tabitha (Green) Firman-Amadon. He married Sabra Gilbert on 28 February 1788, in Brookfield, Worcester County, Massachusetts. They were the parents of thirteen children. He lived in Massachusetts in 1840. He registered for military service in 1780. He died on 19 March 1846, in Wilbraham, Hampden County, Massachusetts, at the age of 82, and was buried in Springfield Cemetery, Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts.
