Barbara was born in Cook County, Illinois, daughter of Bessie and Clifford Garnsey.

Barbara and her husband Ron had one son, who lives in Omaha, NE. Barbara was a dance teacher in her earlier years. In about 2004 Ron and Barbara moved to Omaha, to Pacific Springs Village senior-living community (independent living). Ron died in about 2005. Barb continued living there, where she was a bubbly-personality, well-loved. She became ill with cancer and in mid-2010 had to move to a care-home in Papillion, NE where she died.

Barb loved dance. She graciously donated (in memory of her husgand Ron) a nice, portable dance floor to Pacific Springs Village Senior Living Community. It has been used many, many times for many kinds of community funcitons.
