Ronald L. Goudy, 68, died at 1:24 p.m. Sept. 30, 2010, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 31, 1942, in Kokomo, Ind., to Donald Goudy and Mary McCarty Pickett. His father preceded him in death. His mother survives in Goshen, Ind. On Dec. 17, 1976, he married Kathy Myers, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Goudy retired as a boilermaker and had been a real estate home inspector. He was a member of Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1197, Van Wert. He was an avid sports fan and loved golf and the Dallas Mavericks and Cowboys.
Survivors also include three children, Denise (Brett) Leicht and Scott (Rosie) Goudy, both of Kokomo, Ind., and Brett (Nikki) Goudy, of St. Louis; a brother, Phillip (Sandy) Davenport, of Oceola, Ind.; two brothers-in-law, Dave (Janet) Myers, of Van Wert, and Steve (Donna) Myers, of Convoy; a sister, Connie (Jim) Stout, of Goshen, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Bev (Rich) Dabb, of Cape Coral, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Casey Goudy, Courtney Goudy, Jake Leicht, Ryan Goudy, Tyler Goudy, Connor Leicht and Dylan Goudy; and five nieces and five nephews.
He was preceded in death by two stepfathers, Charles Davenport and Clayton Pickett; and his grandparents, Bill and Faye McCarty and Carl and Zola Goudy.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Pastor Jeff Hutcheon will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
