After attending Oak Park high schook in the class of 1886, Mr. Lowrey joined his father in the carpentering and contracting business, helping to build many of the older structures now standing in Oak Park. In 1898 he established the firm of Lowrey and Linder, in which he remained active until 1908, when he sold his interest to become Vice President of Central Commercial Company of Chicagp, a firm doing an international business in commercial minerals produced at several mines and quarries. This position in association with his brother, F.C. Lowrey of River Forest, Mr. Lowrey held at this death.
On Jul 10, 1889, Mr. Lowrey married Miss Lillian Kenne (Kinney), who survives him after an exceptionally happy union of more than thirty-five year's duration.
Mr. Lowrey was intensely interested the out-of-doors sports and was one of the first to take advantage of Channel Lake at Antioch, for a summer home. He had hunted in several states, and had of recent years taken a keen interest in golf. At the time of his death he was member of the Oak Park Club, the Ridgemoor Country Club, the Edgewood Golf Club and of several other hunting and golf organizations.
