She attended Normal School in Kasson, Minnesota and Wiinona State College, receiving her master degree from Mankato
State University. Wilda taught rural school in Dodge and Steele Counties and was elementary principal at Blooming Prairie before
going to teach at Neveln Elementary School in Austin, Minnesota in 1953. Later she became principal at Oakland and Whittier
Schools in Austin. When she retired she taught special reading at Queen of Angels School and taught calligraphy classes for adults.
On December 21, 1923 she married Loren R. "Mike" Tucker, he preceded her in death in 1956 just before completing their new home.
Survivors are her daughter, Dorothy Lueders of St. Louis, Missouri, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are
her brother, Howard, and sisters, Wilma, Winnona, Marge, Mary, Allyne, Georgie-Ann.
Funeral services were held in St. Louis on July 31, and in Austin, Minnesota on July 6th, 1984 at the Clasen-Jordan Chapel, with
Rev. Kenneth Willard officiating from the First United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Mantorville, Minnesota.
