Edward Throop Crosland, Marlboro Bank President, Dies After Suffering Stroke. Mr. Crosland was born Feb 18 1893 son of the late Throp and Margaret McLaurin Crosland.
Mr. Crosland received his education in the Bennettsville schools, Clemson College and Richland Business College, Richland, VA. He was a veteran of WWI and served with the air force.
With his brother the late P. M Crosland organized the Marlboro Trust Co., and the Marlboro Warehouse Co., of which he was serving as vice president, having formerly been president. The two brothers also organized the first building and loan association in Bennettsville. Besides these interests Mr Crosland was a Marlboro planter with expensive farming interests. He was also the lover of horses and the hunt.
For a number of years Mr. Crosland served as director on the board of trustees of the Marlboro County General Hospital.
